Hartley Alley's Qualifications

Hartley has practiced law since 1984. Since 1988, he has operated two offices, one in Colorado and one in the Los Angeles Area. He serves Central and Southern California, Colorado, Texas, Nevada, and Arizona. Hartley is a mechanical engineer with extensive hands-on experience in the Denver construction industry where he worked for eight years as an ironworker and a journeyman sheet metal worker. He has relevant professional experience in human resources by virtue of his work as a public school teacher and a mental health aide.

Hartley's principal areas of expertise are: (1) Construction Law, with a focus on architects and engineers who design large commercial projects, and mechanical contractors; and (2) Employment Law, with a focus on professionals and management level employees. Services provided include defense of professionals when they are sued for malpractice, representation of employees and also employers in wrongful discharge and discrimination matters, the preparation and interpretation of business documents including contracts for design and construction, and drafting human resources policies.

Hartley received his Juris Doctor from the University of Southern California, his Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering and his Bachelor of Science degree in Education from the University of Colorado. He is a winner of the American Jurisprudence Award in Labor Law, and is a member of Tau Beta Pi, an engineering honor society.
